2021 A New Year: thedirectorswife.net

Welcome back to my blog!  I am super excited to finally be typing again.  I often go through my day or week and think....oh I need to write about that but then I never do but today is different, today I am starting a new habit of writing every week and hopefully with a little discipline you will have a blog post every week from me!

Do you think I can do it?  Do you think I can post 52 posts this year?  The challenge is on!  As I type I feel so much better already!  Writing has always been one of my favorite ways to express myself.  So here we go!

As you can see I have a new blog address...I'm so excited!  Please remember to come back to read my posts every week at

So simple and cute!

I have so many ideas of what I will be sharing and here are just a few.  If you would like me to write about a specific topic please leave me a message in the comments and I will write, write, write.

Minimalism

Yep you got that right I'm on a mission to live a simple life.  It's not easy but over the past year I have decluttered and intentionally gotten rid of a lot of stuff!  I will share my tips and tricks, who I follow on social media in the minimalist world and my struggle to keep my stuff under control!

Becoming Debt Free

Since February 2020 we have been on a debt-free journey following the Dave Ramsey baby steps.  We are on Baby Step #1 which is paying off our debt using the debt snowball.  Come along side us and see how paying off your debt can give you FREEDOM.  We are on debt #7....which means in 2020 we paid off 6 debts in 1 year and we are destroying #7!

Infant Loss

Infant loss....sigh....oh how I wish I did not know much about this but the reality is I do.  We lost our 6 month old son Josiah in 2018 and we are now a family that has a empty spot in our home.

Foster Care & Adoption

In March 2020 we were all set to begin our journey to becoming foster to adopt parents.  We even got Addie bunkbeds in preparation of future placements.  BUT the darn PANDEMIC struck and NJ decided to shut all new foster parents down...it is now 1 year later and we are still waiting.....

Our Journey to Health

This summer we decided to make a concerted effort to lose weight and get healthy.  So far since July my husband has lost 40 pounds and I have lost 30 pounds.  70 pounds y'all!!!!

Running to God

I will be sharing my journey as a Christ follower.  My ups and downs, my failures and successes and the amazing things God has done in my life.

Church and why it's so important

We belong to an amazing church.  Grace Bible Church in Wall, New Jersey.  It's an amazing church that God placed us in at just the right time.

Balancing it all

I don't know about you but I'm tired y'all.  I work two jobs, am a wife, momma to 2 adult children and 1 five-year-old.  I am part of the ministry GriefShare at my church, and I try to hold it all together.  Sometimes I do it with ease and other times I'm a mess.

Recipes for a busy mom

I'm not the greatest cook, but I try.  This past year I have been getting really good at one or two recipes and I even menu plan for the month!  Come along side me and I will share my favorites, my not so favorites and what works for our family.

Grief

Yes this goes along with infant loss but I want to dig deeper into this subject and show you what I have learned over the past 2 1/2 years without my son.

Depression

I have so much to share about depression and my journey with this mental health disorder.  I have come such a long way.  I have suffered from depression since I was a teenager, officially diagnoses in my 20's and have been on meds on and off throughout my life.  Over the past 6 years I have learned so much about myself and depression and can't wait to share my story.

Parenting

Ohhhh parenting.  I am the momma to 4 great children.  Rayne who is 27, Autumn who is 21, Adeline who is 5, and Josiah who died at 6 months but would be turning 3 in April if he was still with us.  I would like to share my success', failures, life as a single mother, life as a married mom, and everything in between.

The Wife Life

And last but not least my journey of being a wife.  I did not become a wife until I was 40...I have learned a lot in the past 6 years and would like to offer encouragement to other wives like me.

So here we go...here's to 2021, more writing, more healing, more healthy habits, and less stuff!

              Signed, Amy (the director's wife)
